2022 Children’s Day at the Capitol

Children’s Day at the Capitol is an opportunity to inform the public, lawmakers, government staff and other advocates about your work to promote the well being of South Dakota’s children and families. Thank you for your support in making this event a continued success.

This year’s programming will focus on information about the Department of Social Services Child Protection Services.

You can help contribute to the success of this event by attending or purchasing an event sponsorship for $750 or a vendor booth sponsorship for $250.

Agenda

9:30 a.m.: Attend legislative committee meetings and network with lawmakers

9:30 a.m.: Vendor booths in the Rotunda

11:30 a.m.: Welcome by Department of Social Services Secretary Laurie Gill,

Speaker: Sara Sheppick, DSS

12:00 p.m.: Lunch in the Rotunda (All are invited)

2 p.m.: Children’s Day participants announced in House and Senate chambers

4:30 p.m.: Movie screening: Starting at Zero at the Discovery Center
