The Center of Disabilities annual Symposium & JAM will be held October 21-23, 2018.
Collaborative. Interdisciplinary. Empowering. The Center for Disabilities Symposium is designed to bring together people who are active in the field of disabilities in a welcoming environment that encourages education, the sharing of ideas, rejuvenation and inspiration. The symposium is an event which fosters energy and creativity among service providers, educators, employers, persons with disabilities, families, and government agencies. Its purpose is to promote leadership and workforcedevelopment for individuals with disabilities and the people who serve them.
The employer breakfast, held the morning of Oct. 23rd, will feature The Honorable Katherine McCary.
Katherine founded C5 Consulting, LLC, in May 2011 after 21 years at SunTrust Bank, Inc. as Chief Disability Officer, where her primary responsibility was developing and leading corporate disability initiatives. C5 Consulting’s team of disability inclusion strategists from the private sector with more than 25 years of corporate disability leadership experience focuses its efforts in supporting clients in key areas of Leadership, Education, Accessibility/Accommodations and Pipeline (LEAP).
As a national speaker, she has shared her expertise with international, national, state, and regional conference audiences for the past 18 years. As an individual with a non-apparent disability, as well as a parent and caregiver of family members with disabilities, she also speaks from a personal perspective. She is a SHRM certified Diversity Trainer and an ADA Leadership Network Trainer.
