Dawn Johnson currently serves as a Regional Manager for Child Protection Services in the Department of Social Services. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from South Dakota State University in 2001. Dawn began her work with the Division of Child Protection Services as a Social Worker/Family Services Specialist in February 2002. She completed field work in the Brookings office, offering Assessments to families where it was determined children may be in need of protection. In November 2006, she was promoted to Lead Family Services Specialist and in September 2008, Dawn was promoted to Family Services Specialist Supervisor, providing direct supervision to the Brookings office. In December 2011, Dawn was further promoted to her current position of Regional Manager. Dawn oversees the offices of Brookings, Aberdeen, Huron and Watertown.
