In partnership with the South Dakota Unified Judicial System, CPCM hosts monthly online training sessions for attorneys, judges, and other multidisciplinary professionals working with families involved in child abuse and neglect cases. The sessions provide relevant and up-to-date information on the South Dakota child welfare system, while offering unique approaches and standards for best practices when working with children throughout the court process. The sessions are held on the final Wednesday of the month from 12:00pm CST to 1:00pm CST on Zoom.

Presenter: Nicole Lauglin, Laughlin Law
Nicole Laughlin graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Dakota in 2002. During her undergraduate studies, she was a double major in English and Criminal Justice. Nicole was active in campus life in Vermillion and participated in several organizations, including Kappa Alpha Theta and Mortar Board National Honor Society.
Nicole received her Juris Doctor from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 2006. While in law school, Nicole excelled academically and served as both a staff writer and Lead Articles Editor of the South Dakota Law Review. She is the author of two published law review articles and Nicole was the recipient of numerous scholarships during her academic schooling.
Nicole has also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of South Dakota, teaching courses for Criminal Procedure and Legal Research and Writing.
