Ashley Asmus currently serves as the Administrator of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Outcomes for the Department of Social Services, Division of Child Protection Services and has 16 years of child welfare experience. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development and Families Studies with Minors in Psychology and Leadership and Management of Non-Profit Organizations from South Dakota State University. In 2008, Ashley began her work with the Division of Child Protection Services providing direct services to families in the Chamberlain, Aberdeen, and Brookings areas. In 2016, Ashley became the Outcomes Management Program Specialist where she began her work with CQI and outcomes. In 2023, Ashley was promoted to her current position of Administrator of Continuous Quality Improvement and Outcomes. As Administrator, Ashley provides direct supervision to 2 Program Specialist II positions and is in the process of building a CQI Team that will consist of 5 Program Specialist I positions. Ashley is responsible for interpreting child welfare laws and policies with staff and stakeholders, participating in leadership and management meetings and workgroups, analyzing data and preparing reports, and assisting staff with work related performance goals. Ashley has expanded the CQI program within CPS, is lead on several federal reporting and review processes, which includes the Child and Family Services Review (CFSR).
