“As an organization dedicated to trauma recovery and healing, we’ve intentionally built workplace policies that support our team members’ wellbeing. Our flexible scheduling allows staff to accommodate family needs, while our telecommuting options support work-life balance. We’ve created dedicated spaces for breastfeeding mothers and foster an environment where self-care and mental health are prioritized. Our trauma-informed workplace culture means we understand that family needs sometimes take precedence, and we build support systems accordingly. As a merged organization with The Compass Center, we’re continuing to enhance these policies to create a workplace that truly models the healing environment we promote in our programming.
Sydney Bartunek, Founder & Executive Director of Move to Heal South Dakota and Chief Development and Communications Officer of The Compass Center
