Tifanie Petro
Tifanie Petro, MS, serves as the Director of Advocacy and Prevention, overseeing the Children’s Home Child Advocacy Center and multiple statewide awareness and education campaigns. In addition to overseeing collaborative investigations of child abuse cases; Tifanie provides forensic interviews for local, state, federal, and tribal jurisdictions, and court room testimony. Tifanie has provided hundreds of hours in comprehensive trainings rooted in understanding trauma and recognizing and responding to child abuse to a variety of professionals across multiple disciplines and jurisdictions. Tifanie believes that by empowering children we can create resilient families and communities. In support of this belief Tifanie has spent her career in this field supporting individuals and families in recognizing their distinct strengths. Tifanie received her BS degree in Psychology from Black Hills State University, her MS in Public Health from Capella University, Minnesota and her MS in Human Services from Capella University, Minnesota. With the understanding that continued learning only makes us better versions of ourselves, Tifanie continues to enhance her educational and professional knowledge with hundreds of hours of comprehensive learning and specialized trainings based on the latest research. Tifanie serves on boards, committees, and multidisciplinary teams with other dedicated community partners, all who work towards the collective goal of building up each person they meet. Tifanie is also helping shape the workforce of tomorrow through teaching Human Services courses at Black Hills State University and the University of South Dakota.
