Tim Reed, a Brookings, SD native is currently serving as District 7’s Senator in the South Dakota Legislature. Before his election to the Legislature, he served in Brookings City Government for a total of 13 years, 8 years as Mayor.

As a state legislator, Tim serves on the Senate Education, Government Operations and Audit, Health and Human Services, and Local Government Committees. In 2020 Representative Reed was awarded the National Sexual Violence Resource Center Visionary Award for sponsoring and successfully passing several victim-centered sexual assault advocacy bills.
