The opinions, statements, conclusions, and recommendations expressed in this session are those of the speakers and do not necessarily reflect the views of the conference hosts.

Children who are sexually victimized often demonstrate a variety of negative outcomes including: compromised ability to trust adults, shame and stigmatization, guilt from not preventing the abuse or because they perceive they benefited from the abuse, and guilt because their disclosure results in family stress and negative consequences to the offender with whom they might have had a valued relationship. This workshop will be a multidisciplinary presentation provided by a lawyer, who specializes in civil and criminal litigation on behalf of victims of child pornography and a mental health professional actively involved in forensic assessment, support, research, and treatment of victims of child pornography. The goal is to share insights about a type of maltreatment with minimal research and to sensitize the audience to issues and challenges in these cases. Participants will be able to: Describe the scope and characteristics of child porn on the internet, recognize the impact of child porn on victims and families, and identify legal interventions and treatment models.
