Clinical Skills Lab
CPCM offers two-day Clinical Skills Labs, designed to provide clinical practice to nurses who are new SANEs or SANEs who have not had the opportunity to perform many exams. By utilizing live models, the Clinical Skills Lab will increase the nurse’s skill and confidence with performing medical forensic examination. Participants must have completed at least 80% of the 40-hour IAFN-approved didactic training prior to attending the Clinical Skills Lab. Participants must also be able to attend the full training. The SANE Clinical Skills Lab is for RN’s or mid-level providers who have completed the 40hour Adult/Adolescent IAFN-approved didactic training.

- Pediatric Clinical Skills Lab – this full day Pediatric Clinical Skills Lab is designed for all nurses and providers who may care for a pediatric patient with concerns of sexual abuse. The Clinical Skills Lab will help nurses or providers discern need for an acute exam, how to conduct that exam, next steps and resources. Participants must be able to attend the full training. A $200 stipend is available for SD nurses and providers who attend in person.
