Innovative collaborations are happening across the comprehensive early childhood landscape to ensure a strong start for children. The Bright Light series will showcase successes and outcomes achieved through collaborative, cross-sector or agency efforts, designed to ensure a strong start for children. Training Series to Focus on Role of Fathers
The fatherhood training series will wrap up this month with:
- July 10: Cultural Competency and Diversity in Fatherhood presented by Jillian Baker, The Center for Parent and Teen Communication
- July 17: Policy and Structural Factors for Support Fathers presented by Dan Wuori, Early Childhood Policy Solutions

WIC Community Innovation and Outreach Project Upcoming Trainings
The WIC-CIAO Project is implementing several of the strategies found in the ECCS Strategic Plan, including cross-training professionals serving families and young children. Upcoming learning opportunities include:

Cultural Competency Series In-Person
Service providers working with families with young children in the Sioux Falls-area are invited by CPCM and LSS to a free in-person training series. This training series will be held at The Coliseum, 515 N Main Ave in Sioux Falls on Thursdays from 11:30am to 1:00pm. Attendees are invited to bring their own lunch or lunch will be available onsite for purchase.

Pilot to Support Quality Child Care and After School Age Programs
South Dakota has embarked on a pilot to support quality in child care and school-age programs under the direction of the South Dakota State University Quality Collaborative in collaboration with the South Dakota Early Childhood Enrichment System and support from the South Dakota Department of Social Services.
